Kebbi PDP Denies Claims of Aligning with APC for 2027

Kebbi State PDP Chairman Usman Bello Suru has officially refuted claims that the party plans to support the APC in the 2027 elections, confirming the party will field its own candidates.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has formally denied recent allegations suggesting they plan to back the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections. Usman Bello Suru, the state party chairman, issued a statement on Sunday clarifying that the organization remains a cohesive force and has not extended support to any external political group or candidate.

Suru emphasized that the PDP intends to present its own candidates for every available seat in the upcoming polls. He dismissed the rumors of an alliance with the APC as false and misrepresentative of the party’s actual stance. According to the chairman, the party is completely united and remains committed solely to its own platform.

He encouraged party stakeholders, elders, and members to stay composed and continue following the principles of the opposition. These comments were prompted by speculation surrounding a meeting between former Minister Buhari Bala and retired General Ishaya Bamayi, which allegedly signaled support for the APC. Suru reiterated that no such decision regarding an alliance has been made by the party leadership.
