The arrest follows a report shared on Friday by the police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.

On May 12, 2026, police received an emergency alert regarding a silver Pontiac Vibe, license plate KMC 928 LK, which had been taken in Kaduna State and was reportedly moving into Kano.

Acting under instructions from Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, officers were deployed to key entry points to intercept the car.

Following preliminary questioning, the suspect was handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for comprehensive processing.

The car has since been returned to its owner, who expressed gratitude for the prompt police intervention. Commissioner Bakori praised his team’s diligence and vowed to maintain pressure on criminals operating across state lines.

The command continues to encourage residents to report any unusual activity through their official emergency contact lines.
