Kalu Kalu, a legal practitioner and leader within the African Democratic Congress, has formally filed a complaint with the European Union Commission. The petition accuses President Bola Tinubu of constitutional violations and the submission of falsified academic documents.
During his visit to Brussels this past Friday, Kalu asserted that the President circumvented legal requirements by presenting questionable credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the upcoming 2027 election cycle. The lawyer contends that the failure to verify primary and secondary education history stands in direct breach of Section 137 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
Kalu stated that presenting fraudulent records to election officials disqualifies a candidate from seeking office. He further argued that the current administration has consolidated power in a manner that overrides national constitutional frameworks, effectively imposing leadership without the necessary legal legitimacy.
