Juan Mata commended Dani Olmo’s standout midfield performance during Spain’s 2-1 victory over France, which advanced the team to the World Cup final.

Retired Spain international Juan Mata recently highlighted the contributions of Dani Olmo after Spain secured a 2-1 victory against France in the World Cup semifinals. Olmo proved instrumental in midfield, setting up the second goal in Dallas to help secure his team’s place in their second-ever final.

The scoring began when Mikel Oyarzabal converted a penalty kick at the 22-minute mark. Pedro Porro later doubled the advantage in the second half, capitalizing on a quick passing sequence with Olmo. Although Porro earned the official Man of the Match honor, Olmo received significant praise for his fluid movement and accurate distribution throughout the contest.

Mata shared his admiration for the player on X, specifically noting Olmo’s unique approach to the game. Barcelona’s midfielder has featured in every match for Spain during this tournament, contributing two assists. Since his international debut in 2019, the 28-year-old has represented his country 57 times.
