Lobi Stars have officially hired Bala Nikyu as the team’s technical adviser for the upcoming 2026/2027 Nigeria National League campaign. The Makurdi-based outfit has entrusted Nikyu with the primary objective of securing promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Nikyu brings a wealth of coaching experience to the club, having previously led prominent teams such as Gombe United, Plateau United, and Wikki Tourists. His resume also includes a stint managing the Flamingos, Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team.
The club aims to leverage his expertise to bounce back following their relegation from the top flight in the 2024/25 season. Lobi Stars narrowly missed out on returning to the elite division during the previous campaign, and the board views Nikyu as the right leader to overcome that hurdle.
