This event occurred shortly after the Israeli military cautioned about potential missiles heading toward the region and the risk of the conflict spilling over into Israeli territory.
Jordanian military officials reported that they neutralized three incoming Iranian missiles, while a fourth landed in an unpopulated zone. Air raid sirens sounded across various parts of the country, including Amman. Israel stated it fired additional interceptors to address missile debris, which ultimately landed in an open field near Eilat with no reported casualties or damage.
Confusion emerged regarding the status of local infrastructure when the U.S. embassy suggested that the Aqaba airport and seaport were evacuated due to a credible threat. However, Jordanian government spokesperson Mohammad al-Momani refuted these claims, asserting that both facilities remained fully operational.
The regional situation remains tense following the recent loss of two American service members in Jordan during a separate Iranian strike on Friday. The Jordanian government continues to state that it is actively defending its borders against recent Iranian aggression.
