Isaac Balami, the former Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti presidential ticket, met with Seyi Tinubu in Abuja on Friday to pledge support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election. Balami, who transitioned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the 2023 elections due to dissatisfaction with the Labour Party’s leadership, was accompanied by various professionals and leaders from the Obidient Movement.
The delegation included representatives from approximately 100 support groups, social media influencers, and religious leaders. Balami claimed that the group, which previously helped secure over six million votes for Peter Obi, now aims to deliver 12 million votes for President Tinubu. He stated that the move was motivated by a lack of recognition and unfair treatment within the previous movement, describing the group as now being “BATIFIED.”
Participants expressed grievances regarding their treatment during the 2023 campaign, citing personal sacrifices that they felt went unacknowledged. They vowed to promote the APC agenda in their home regions. In response, Seyi Tinubu welcomed the group, promising inclusivity and fair treatment within the APC. He highlighted the administration’s current efforts, such as infrastructure projects, economic reforms, and the student loan initiative, while thanking Balami for his commitment to the “Renewed Hope” vision.
