INEC Sets July 26 Deadline for Final Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned Nigerians to finish their voter registration by July 26, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is reminding all eligible citizens to finalize their voter registration prior to the conclusion of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) program on Sunday, July 26, 2026. This announcement was shared via the commission’s official social media channel on Saturday.

Officials are urging the public to act promptly rather than waiting until the final hours. The commission stated that the future cannot wait and advised citizens to prioritize the deadline. Interested individuals have the option to complete the entire registration process digitally through the official CVR website. Alternatively, those who prefer in-person help can visit any INEC state headquarters, local government area office, or authorized registration facility.

These centers are scheduled to remain open every day of the week, including weekends, with operating hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. leading up to the final day. This registration push is a key component of the agency’s strategy to prepare for the 2027 general elections, allowing new voters to sign up and existing voters to correct or update their current information.
