The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled a practice accreditation session for Saturday, August 1, 2026, to prepare for the upcoming Osun State governorship election on August 15. The announcement, issued by Ariyo Rufus on behalf of Resident Electoral Commissioner Oluwatoyin Babalola, confirms the goal is to evaluate technical readiness and verify the performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
While the process mimics the actual procedures used on election day, the commission emphasized that no real voting will occur. The tests are set to take place at specific polling stations across all three senatorial districts. These include locations within Osogbo, Olorunda, Ifelodun, and Boripe in Osun Central; Ilesa West, Ilesa East, Oriade, and Obokun in Osun East; and Egbedore, Ede North, Ede South, and Ejigbo in Osun West.
Registered voters residing in these designated areas are encouraged to attend, provided they possess a valid Permanent Voter Card. The commission remains dedicated to delivering a transparent and fair electoral process and expressed gratitude to the public and stakeholders for their ongoing support.
