Imo State APP Leader Ernest Njesi Affirms Readiness for 2027 General Elections

Imo State APP Chairman Ernest Njesi confirms the party has registered a full slate of candidates for the 2027 general elections and remains undeterred by recent political intimidation.

Ernest Njesi, the Imo State Chairman of the Action Peoples Party (APP), has announced the party’s full preparation for the upcoming 2027 general elections. During a press briefing in Owerri, Njesi expressed strong confidence in the party’s prospects, noting that they have officially fielded candidates for every elective office.

The chairman confirmed that the party has successfully registered its slate of candidates with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Specifically, the APP has secured approval for three senatorial candidates, 10 House of Representatives hopefuls, and 27 candidates running for the State House of Assembly. Njesi emphasized that the party is actively engaging with local communities to promote its platform and mobilize voter support.

Addressing recent hostilities, Njesi condemned the vandalism of the party’s secretariat and the destruction of its campaign billboards, attributing these actions to political adversaries. Despite these provocations, he asserted that intimidation will not deter the party from its electoral goals. He concluded by urging rival parties to focus on presenting their political agendas to the public rather than resorting to violence.
