Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has officially appointed 19 new permanent secretaries. This move aims to fill existing gaps within the state civil service and improve overall administrative efficiency. Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, the Head of the State Civil Service, announced that the decision was driven by both staff shortages and recent structural changes made to state ministries.
These appointments are intended to provide ministries with strong leadership capable of meeting their specific operational goals. According to Prof. Shehu, the selection process focused on geographical diversity, covering 11 local government areas, while prioritizing professional background and individual competence.
The candidates were vetted for their consistent career performance and unblemished service records. Each appointee has been recognized for their professionalism and dedication to public service. Governor Yahaya has instructed the new officials to apply their expertise toward creating a more responsive and results-driven government framework. These appointments are effective immediately.
