Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris assembled top security officials and key stakeholders for a strategic meeting aimed at bolstering the state’s safety measures and safeguarding its citizens. This gathering follows a surge in criminal activity, specifically kidnapping and banditry, which has caused significant alarm in several local districts.
The session took place on Tuesday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. Attendees included senior representatives from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Local government chairmen, members of the State Executive Council, and vigilante leaders were also present to coordinate regional responses.
Participants evaluated current security operations and explored ways to improve intelligence sharing and operational synergy to better combat threats. Governor Idris expressed his administration’s resolve to maintain order and urged security agencies to work closely with local communities. The governor highlighted the necessity of taking preemptive action to allow residents across all 21 local government areas to pursue their livelihoods without threat of harm.
