Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara conducted an on-site visit to the location where a four-storey building collapsed in Port Harcourt. His arrival served to evaluate the extent of the damage and monitor the status of active rescue missions.
While inspecting the scene, Fubara praised the rescue personnel for their diligent efforts to locate and recover individuals buried under the structural ruins. The governor noted that the authorization for the construction of the building came from a federal entity rather than the Rivers State government.
Expressing sympathy for the bereaved families, he also offered his support for those recovering from injuries. This incident, occurring on Wednesday in the Peter Odili area, follows a separate three-storey building collapse in Rumuolumeni that took place just two days earlier.
