Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called on the latest cohort of National Youth Service Corps members to prioritize peace, follow the law, and actively aid national growth. Speaking through Commissioner for Youth Affairs Moshood Olagunju at the Ede orientation camp during the 2026 Batch B Stream II opening ceremony, the governor emphasized the importance of the official oath taken by the participants.
He advised the youth to address any complaints using legal frameworks rather than resorting to vigilantism. He also reminded them that as potential role models, they must set a positive example for younger citizens. The governor stressed the need for unity, urging corps members to celebrate cultural diversity and treat each other like family during their service period. He pledged continued state support for their safety and welfare, noting that Osun is a hospitable and peaceful environment.
NYSC State Coordinator Ekeng Ita Kubiangha confirmed that 3,000 members have registered for the camp, including those moved from Lagos. The three-week training will focus on physical health, entrepreneurship, and mental preparedness. With the upcoming state gubernatorial election, Kubiangha reminded the corps members of their responsibilities as independent electoral staff, noting that extensive preparations and security briefings have been conducted across all 27 local government areas to ensure a transparent and safe voting process.
