Governor Abiodun Names Six New Permanent Secretaries in Ogun State

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has named six new Permanent Secretaries to replace retired officials, emphasizing merit and professional leadership.

Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has officially authorized the selection of six individuals to serve as Permanent Secretaries. A public notice released this past Friday by the Head of Service, Iskeel Saka, confirmed the new appointments. These roles were vacated following the mandatory retirement of the previous officeholders.

The officials named to these positions are Dr. Solomon Oluseyi Sokunbi, Abiodun Oladunjoye Akinwunmi, Adedeji Akanbi Sowunmi, Olumide Olusola Ogunbo, Dolamu Isaiah Idowu-Agida, and Musinat Abiola Ayodele. According to Saka, the selections adhere to Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution and prioritize merit, professional standing, and inclusivity.

Every appointee fulfilled the requirements of the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme, a prerequisite for reaching the top tier of the state’s public service. The Head of Service noted that these appointments align with the Governor’s vision for a high-performing and responsive civil service. These new leaders are expected to uphold integrity and commitment while driving internal reforms to enhance service delivery for the public. A formal inauguration date will be announced by the state administration at a later time.
