Akindele admitted that her dedication often led her to neglect her own needs. She noted that she frequently bypassed personal grooming, such as styling her hair, and avoided social events like parties to prioritize research, writing, and production. She described this period of her career as being completely immersed in her craft.
Reflecting on her recent accomplishments, including her film Behind The Scene grossing 2.7 billion naira, Akindele stated that this success was the result of significant sacrifice. She noted that only recently has she begun to prioritize self-care, such as skincare routines, after years of focusing almost exclusively on her career growth.
