The Nigerian government is projecting that the upcoming Nigeria NOW! Global Investors Expo 2026 will bring significant new investment into the solid minerals sector while bolstering economic diversification. Dr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, spoke through the Director-General of the Mining Cadastre Office, Simon Nkom, during a press event in Abuja. He noted that the initiative is essential for expanding prospects in mining, energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing.
Scheduled for November 19 and 20 in Abuja, the expo is organized in partnership with EnergyNet. Minister Alake emphasized that the event is strategically timed to help Nigeria move away from reliance on limited revenue streams by creating a more robust industrial base. He highlighted that mining success depends on connected sectors, including reliable power, transport, and clear regulatory frameworks.
The government aims to shift the mining sector from raw extraction toward local processing and job creation. Minister Alake called for responsible investors who prioritize legal compliance, environmental protection, and community welfare. Abdoulaye Sylla, representing EnergyNet, confirmed that the platform intends to directly link global investors with government officials and project developers. With roughly 600 international delegates expected, the organizers hope to establish this as an annual fixture. Additionally, the event underscored the role of youth in achieving national net-zero emission targets by 2060, while acknowledging key corporate and advisory partners.
