The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) formally handed the Certificate of Return to Danladi Halilu Envulu-Anza of the All Progressives Congress. This follows his successful run in the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election.
The event occurred on Monday, June 22, 2026, one day after election officials confirmed his win across Wamba, Akwanga, and Nasarawa Eggon. Envulu-Anza achieved victory with 45,362 votes, surpassing Labaran Maku of the Labour Party, who received 12,931 votes, and David Emmanuel Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who earned 11,570 votes.
Following his receipt of the document, the senator-elect thanked voters for their support and promised to focus on high-quality representation. He stated his commitment to pursuing development initiatives and legislation that benefits his constituents. The vacancy was opened by the death of the previous senator, Godiya Akwashiki, in late 2025. Envulu-Anza will now move toward his official inauguration.
