Two individuals, Collins Agbonbaye and Pastor Ojo Perfect, have accused Nosa Ighodaro, a realtor based in Edo State, of defrauding them of over N30 million. The claimants state that Ighodaro promised to secure travel permits and work documents for Canada. According to the complainants, they were initially introduced to the realtor individually and later joined forces while preparing for a journey that saw shifting transit plans through Cameroon and destination changes from the United Kingdom to New Zealand before settling on Canada.
Upon reaching Cameroon, immigration authorities detained the pair, declaring that their provided visas were fraudulent. Gabriel Ogah, the Divisional Police Officer for Uromi, noted that attempts to bring Ighodaro back to Edo State for questioning were halted after medical professionals deemed him unfit for release due to health concerns. Similarly, Naseer Gusau, the DPO of Gwarinpa, confirmed that the realtor was apprehended in Abuja but subsequently hospitalized following an illness.
Pastor Perfect expressed deep distress regarding the ordeal and urged law enforcement to prioritize a thorough investigation. In his defense, Ighodaro dismissed the accusations as untrue. He maintains that he merely acted as a facilitator who connected the men to a third party responsible for the travel logistics, challenging them to produce documentation proving he received their funds.
