Henry Pollock, the 21-year-old Northampton star, is positioned to demand a significant pay rise to remain at Franklin’s Gardens. His representative, Eddie Hearn, insists that an annual salary of £1m is appropriate for the rising talent. Hearn noted that Pollock’s influence on the sport and his growing marketability make him a seven-figure asset.
Currently signed through summer 2027, Pollock earns approximately £150,000 per year under a deal finalized in late 2024. Since that agreement, he has earned his England debut, toured with the British and Irish Lions, and helped secure the Premiership title. His flamboyant playing style has bolstered his popularity, though Northampton faces salary cap constraints of £6.4m. While teams can designate one marquee player exempt from this limit, Saints already feature several high-profile stars competing for that status.
Hearn emphasized that Pollock intends to stay in England to maintain his international eligibility. However, he maintained that the current compensation is insufficient given the player’s contribution to ticket sales, viewership, and merchandise revenue. Additionally, Hearn stated that Pollock has aspirations to represent Great Britain in the Sevens format at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, following a path similar to Antoine Dupont.
