The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ebonyi State has formally rejected claims that it has endorsed Chief Ifeanyi Odii, a governorship aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2027 election. The party maintains that it is fully focused on supporting its own candidate.
Hon. Enyinnaya Udensi Alum, the state chairman for the NDC, clarified that the rumors originated from former members who were previously ousted due to allegations of financial misconduct and involvement in anti-party activities. He emphasized that the organization has no plans to back any candidate from outside the party.
Addressing the public, Hon. Alum warned followers to ignore these claims, noting they violate the party’s core values. He specifically stated that the individuals behind the endorsement announcement are no longer affiliated with the NDC and lack the authority to speak for the party. Supporters have been urged to avoid any events associated with these former members to prevent being linked to unauthorized political actions.
