Dr. Tosin Odeyemi exits Osun NNPP to lead Democratic Leadership Alliance

Dr. Tosin Odeyemi has resigned as the Osun State NNPP Chairman to become the acting state head of the newly registered Democratic Leadership Alliance.

Dr. Tosin Odeyemi has stepped down as the Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). In his resignation letter sent to the national leadership on July 16, 2026, he requested that his registration details be purged from the party records. The letter did not provide specific reasons for his departure.

Shortly after leaving the NNPP, Odeyemi, a known associate of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, revealed his new political affiliation. By July 17, 2026, he was named the acting state chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA). This appointment was formalized by the DLA National Chairman, Samuel Memeh, following approval from the party’s National Executive Committee.

Odeyemi is now tasked with expanding the DLA’s presence, ensuring adherence to its internal constitution, and reporting directly to the national leadership. Addressing his new role, Odeyemi promised to prioritize party unity, discipline, and transparent management. He urged local stakeholders to back the new platform, positioning the DLA as a viable alternative for the people of Osun.
