Dr. Daniel Kim Named as Running Mate for PDP Plateau Gubernatorial Bid

The PDP in Plateau State has unveiled Dr. Daniel Kim as the running mate for its 2027 gubernatorial candidate, Chief Kefas Ropshik Kefiano, who committed to a single-term tenure to respect state zoning agreements.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has officially selected Dr. Daniel Kim to serve as the deputy candidate for its 2027 governorship hopeful, Chief Kefas Ropshik Kefiano. This announcement follows the appointment of Chief John Arkson as the Elders Council Chairman, while Chris Hassan takes on the role of Campaign Director-General.

Chief Kefiano emphasized that the PDP remains a dominant political influence despite recent legal challenges. To honor established zoning protocols, he committed to a single four-year term. He argued that the state’s citizens value these zoning agreements, noting that previous administrations failed when they attempted to bypass them.

Highlighting a focus on policy-driven discourse, Kefiano criticized the current state government’s performance. Meanwhile, Board of Trustees member Hon. Johnbull Shekarau commended the party for its persistence through recent internal obstacles. State Chairman Hon. Peter Tongshien confirmed that all candidate credentials have been submitted to the National Secretariat and successfully filed with the Independent National Electoral Commission, signaling the party’s readiness for the upcoming campaign season.
