Dembélé Beats Lamine Yamal to 2025 Ballon d’Or
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has won the 2025 Ballon d’Or, football’s most prestigious individual prize, at a ceremony in Paris on Monday night.
The French star delivered a remarkable 2024/25 season, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists across all competitions. His performances were crucial in PSG’s historic treble, which included their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, the Ligue 1 trophy, and the Coupe de France.
Dembélé’s achievement is particularly striking given his earlier struggles with injuries and inconsistency, which once cast doubt on his potential. Now 28, he has reached the peak of world football, fulfilling the promise he showed as a teenager.

He finished ahead of Barcelona’s 17-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal and other top contenders. PSG was also named Best Team of the Year, highlighting the club’s growing dominance on the global stage.
