Delta State police have arrested Ugo Chukwu Kendirim and Odo Jude after discovering a pump-action gun and other weapons in their vehicle near the Second Niger Bridge.

Law enforcement officers from the Buffalo Team of the Delta State Department of Operations have taken two men into custody following a stop-and-search operation near the Second Niger Bridge. The suspects were found in possession of a pump-action shotgun, live ammunition, and two daggers.

State Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed the arrests occurred on 27 May 2026. The individuals in custody are 25-year-old Ugo Chukwu Kendirim and 27-year-old Odo Jude.

They were apprehended while traveling in an unregistered blue Hijet Cargo mini-bus coming from Anambra State.

According to police reports, the suspects initially resisted the inspection and attempted to intimidate officers by threatening to record them. Despite this, the team conducted a full search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of the concealed weaponry.

The suspects are currently being held while authorities investigate potential connections to wider criminal networks.
