Confluence University of Science and Technology in Kogi State has formally dismissed two students due to their involvement in homosexual activities. Additionally, the university administration has suspended four other students for one academic year following their participation in a campus brawl.
These disciplinary measures, detailed in letters issued by Deputy Registrar Eli Gbadafu on Saturday, align with the 2025 amended version of the institution’s student handbook. The decisions were finalized by the university Senate following reports from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
Onumoko Hamza, a Biology Education student, and Mining Engineering student Abdulazeez Eneji were the individuals expelled for their conduct. Meanwhile, Favor Akowe, Simbiat Babamuharuna, Zainab Omayoza, and Sukura Bukola received one-year suspensions for fighting.
University officials stated that these actions are necessary to preserve a structured learning environment. Management emphasized that they remain committed to enforcing school regulations and encouraged the student body to strictly adhere to the policies outlined in their handbook.
