According to reports from DAILY POST, Shooting Stars have been paired with the Tunisian club CS Sfaxien for the opening preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. Nurudeen Aweroro’s squad will play the initial match at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, with the return match taking place in Sfax.
Advancing from this round will lead to a second-stage match against either East End Lions from Sierra Leone or AF Amadou Diallo of Côte d’Ivoire. Meanwhile, El-Kanemi Warriors, representing Nigeria as well, are set to compete against União Desportiva Internacional (UDIB) of Guinea Bissau.
Should El-Kanemi Warriors secure a win against UDIB, they will advance to a challenging second-round encounter with Raja Casablanca. The Moroccan powerhouse is among the eight teams that received a bye from the tournament’s first round. The opening matches are slated for September 4 to 6, with the second legs occurring between September 11 and 13.
