Bournemouth finalized the signing of Portuguese center-back Antonio Silva on Saturday. The transfer fee from Benfica is estimated at 25 million pounds, equivalent to 33 million dollars. This marks the club’s second significant acquisition this week, following the addition of striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.
Silva arrives as a replacement for Marcos Senesi, who departed for Tottenham on a free transfer. Throughout his tenure in Lisbon, the 22-year-old recorded 235 appearances and secured six major trophies. On the international stage, he has earned 20 caps for Portugal, representing his country at the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024, although he was omitted from the squad for the most recent North American tournament.
