Alejandro Garnacho has joined Aston Villa on a loan agreement that runs through the conclusion of the 2026-27 season. The 22-year-old winger, who recorded eight goals and four assists during his 43 appearances for Chelsea last year, has already signed a four-year deal with his new club should the transfer become permanent.
Chelsea included an obligation-to-buy clause in the contract, which is expected to be triggered by specific performance metrics, such as the number of matches played. The Blues anticipate that these terms will be satisfied, allowing them to recoup their initial £43m valuation. This move follows Chelsea’s acquisition of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa earlier this week for a record £117m.
Villa head coach Unai Emery expressed his enthusiasm regarding the signing, citing the Argentine international’s significant talent and desire to contribute to the project at Villa Park. Garnacho is the fourth addition to the squad this summer, joining Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Modou Keba Cisse.
