Barcelona Secure Brazilian Star Kerolin from Manchester City

Brazilian forward Kerolin moves to Barcelona from Manchester City in a record-breaking deal after a successful 18-month period in the WSL.

Brazilian international Kerolin has departed Manchester City to join Barcelona, signing a deal that lasts until 2030. During her 18-month tenure with the WSL champions, the 26-year-old was instrumental in the club’s first league title in ten years and their Women’s FA Cup victory. Across 15 appearances last season, she recorded nine goals and five assists, highlighted by a notable hat-trick against Chelsea. Reports indicate the deal is worth roughly £1.3m, marking a record fee for a Brazilian female player.

Kerolin, who arrived at City from North Carolina Courage in January 2025, remains a vital member of the Brazil national squad with 15 goals in 62 caps. She is expected to be a prominent figure in next year’s home World Cup. Barcelona pursued the forward as a successor to Salma Parraluelo, who moved to Lyon. Other notable exits from the Spanish giants this summer include Alexia Putellas and Mapi Leon, both of whom transferred to London City Lionesses. Manchester City has responded to the departure by adding Beth Mead to their forward lineup.
