She asserted that the issues facing the United Kingdom are rooted in deeper ideological problems within the Labour Party rather than just the individual leadership of Starmer. Badenoch argued that Labour legislators consistently prioritize high taxation and welfare over economic development, claiming these actions reflect the core values of the party regardless of leadership changes. She concluded that the Conservative Party is the necessary alternative for revitalizing the national economy.
Starmer confirmed his resignation after less than two years in the position, citing the need for new leadership before the next election. He stated that he would oversee a transition period until his successor is determined, with the process concluding by September.
