All Progressives Congress (APC) figure Ayekooto Akindele has suggested that activist Aisha Yesufu is lashing out at Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi because she failed to obtain the party’s senatorial nomination. Recently, Yesufu voiced her disappointment regarding an interview Obi gave to Channels TV host Seun Akinbaloye, arguing that the content offered nothing novel to the public.
Akindele countered these claims on Facebook by asserting that Yesufu’s frustration stems from her defeat in the NDC senatorial primaries for the Federal Capital Territory. Furthermore, he noted that she appears disgruntled because the NDC consolidated its campaign finances, a move Obi has not publicly challenged. Akindele questioned why Yesufu chose to air her grievances on social media rather than offering internal counsel to the candidate. He suggested that her public critique indicates she may have lost her standing within the party’s inner circle, noting that individuals with genuine influence typically offer advice behind closed doors rather than via public platforms.
