Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, asserts that President Bola Tinubu’s economic strategies are successfully reviving investor trust and steering Nigeria toward a $1 trillion economic milestone. Speaking at his 58th birthday colloquium in Jos, Plateau State, Nentawe characterized the administration’s policies as necessary, courageous steps that previous leaders avoided due to a lack of political resolve.
Highlighting tangible progress, the APC chairman noted that Nigeria’s GDP has climbed from under $300 billion to approximately $375 billion over the last two years. He emphasized that the economy is finally outperforming the population growth rate, while the trade balance has shifted to show that exports now outweigh imports. Furthermore, infrastructure projects—such as new seaports, railways, and highways—are designed to lower operational costs and transform the nation into a regional trade hub for West and Central Africa.
Nentawe dismissed criticisms that the administration is shortsighted, arguing that the president is constructing a sustainable economic framework for future generations. He reaffirmed his commitment to the president’s agenda, pledging to serve as the lead campaigner for the 2027 re-election bid. The event also featured praise from other leaders, including Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and representatives of the APC Governors’ Forum, who commended Nentawe’s impact on party growth and youth mentorship.
