The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, has taken a couple into custody for a burglary at the Okitipupa residence of Jumoke Akindele, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly. Samson Osowe, 28, and his wife, Ayo Oguneso, 22, were identified as the primary suspects.
Amotekun launched an operation based on intelligence that the pair intended to transport stolen goods to Lagos. Officers successfully intercepted the items before they could leave the area. Along with the couple, an accomplice involved in the transport logistics was also arrested. Commander Adetunji Adeleye confirmed that seven high-end mobile phones and various personal effects were recovered and will be returned to the former Speaker.
Akindele reported that the incident occurred early Sunday morning, with the suspects forcing entry and causing structural damage to her windows. Following the recovery of her belongings, she praised the efficiency of the Amotekun Corps. She further emphasized that this operation highlights the necessity for state-level police forces through constitutional reform. Adeleye stated that the suspects will soon be processed for court appearances.
