Airstrikes Eliminate Scores of Terrorists in Zamfara
The Nigerian military has successfully carried out airstrikes against terrorists planning to attack Babban Kauye village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The strikes targeted terrorists aligned with two notorious bandit leaders, Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, who were reportedly planning attacks on the local population.
The operation, conducted by air troops under ‘Operation Farautar Mujiya,’ led to the neutralization of numerous terrorists. This action is part of ongoing military efforts to curb banditry and protect civilians in the region.
The spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, said, “The terrorists were planning to attack military personnel stationed at the Tsafe axis and residents of some villages around the area before intelligence thwarted their plans.”
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) successfully carried out airstrikes on Friday, targeting terrorists in Babban Kauye village, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The military had received credible intelligence indicating that the terrorists, led by notorious bandit kingpins Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, were preparing to launch coordinated attacks on the local population.
In response, airstrikes were launched, which resulted in significant casualties among the criminals. Ground troops later confirmed that many high-ranking bandit leaders involved in the plot were neutralized during the operation, weakening the operational capacity of these groups.
Tsafe Local Government Area has long been a hotspot for banditry, with groups loyal to Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule frequently attacking local communities, security forces, and key infrastructure.
These factions have used villages like Babban Kauye as safe havens to plan and execute their violent operations, making the recent strike a significant blow to their activities.
The recent airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) represent a decisive effort to support the Theatre Command of Operation FANSAN YAMMA and contribute to broader efforts to dismantle and degrade bandit networks in the North West. This action aims to disrupt planned attacks, while helping restore peace and stability in the region.
The NAF’s commitment to working with sister services and other security agencies to secure the region and the nation as a whole remains strong. The force is determined to eliminate threats posed by terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements that undermine the country’s peace and prosperity.
