Ex-England stars Gabby Agbonlahor and Darren Bent have suggested to manager Thomas Tuchel which forwards should lead the line for the upcoming World Cup semi-final against Argentina this Wednesday.
During a segment on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor pushed for Marcus Rashford to start on the right flank instead of Noni Madueke. He proposed that Bukayo Saka should be introduced later in the match. Agbonlahor noted that Argentina’s full-backs appear vulnerable, suggesting that Rashford could exploit those defensive gaps effectively. He further stated that Madueke’s recent performances have made him a questionable choice for the starting eleven.
Darren Bent supported the idea of deploying Rashford on the right, while also advocating for Anthony Gordon to hold the position on the left. Bent speculated that Tuchel might take a risk with Rashford in that role, maintaining Gordon as the primary option on the opposite side of the field.
