The England men’s cricket team will begin their attempt to reclaim the Ashes from Australia at Trent Bridge on June 18, 2027. The schedule confirms that northern venues, specifically Emirates Old Trafford and Headingley, were not selected to host any men’s Test matches. This decision continues to draw criticism, echoing concerns raised by Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham back in 2023.
Lord’s will host the second Test on June 30, followed by Edgbaston on July 8. Southampton’s Utilita Bowl will make its Ashes debut as the fourth venue on July 21, before the series concludes at the Kia Oval starting July 29. Meanwhile, the multi-format Women’s Ashes will run from June 24 to July 20, featuring a variety of venues across the country.
England’s preparation includes a standalone Test against Bangladesh at Lord’s in late May. Australia will participate in a warm-up fixture against the England Lions at Old Trafford in early June. The England and Wales Cricket Board also confirmed a schedule of additional white-ball series against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh throughout the summer to prepare for upcoming international tournaments.
