Adebayo Claims He Ran Against INEC in the 2023 Election

SDP presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo argues he was forced to run against the electoral commission in 2023 and calls for improved neutrality in future elections.

Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party presidential nominee, has stated that he effectively competed against the Independent National Electoral Commission during the 2023 general elections. He shared these remarks during an appearance on the Channels Television program Sunday Politics.

Adebayo heavily criticized the 2023 election results, asserting that the process was tainted by corruption and the acceptance of fabricated data by the electoral body. He urged the commission and security agencies to function as neutral referees rather than competitors in the upcoming 2027 polls.

Reflecting on the previous cycle, Adebayo likened the situation to a bank robber tasked with counting stolen funds, characterizing the 2023 results as fraudulent. He expressed hope that electoral officials, including those leading the commission, would ensure future contests remain strictly between candidates. He emphasized that every participant deserves to have their final score accurately represent their actual effort during the electoral process.
