The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has advised President Bola Tinubu to shift his attention toward resolving the nation’s severe economic and security hurdles instead of focusing on political disputes with his rivals. Dr. Chike Okogwu, the party’s National Leader for Persons with Disabilities, expressed this view in a Saturday statement responding to the President’s remarks on political competition.
Okogwu emphasized that citizens are primarily concerned with curbing inflation, reducing insecurity, and lowering the cost of living rather than witnessing partisan squabbles. He challenged the federal administration to place the welfare of families and the stability of businesses at the forefront of its agenda. Furthermore, the ADC representative highlighted the ongoing difficulties encountered by Nigerians living with disabilities, noting their persistent lack of access to fundamental services like transportation, education, and healthcare.
The party is pushing for all government tiers to strictly enforce the Disability Act and create an environment that fosters equal opportunity. According to Okogwu, the ADC advocates for improved public infrastructure and inclusive governance. He concluded by asserting that the true measure of a political leader’s success is found in the positive impact they have on the daily lives of their constituents, not in the winning of political campaigns.
