ACF Applauds Northern Governors for Launching Security Trust Fund

The Arewa Consultative Forum has lauded the creation of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund, viewing it as a vital step in combating regional violence and restoring peace.

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) recently praised the Forum of Northern States Governors for creating the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund. The group labeled the move a major regional achievement aimed at pooling resources to combat persistent threats like terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping that have plagued the North.

By establishing this fund, northern governors demonstrate a unified intent to tackle the region’s long-standing instability. The ACF emphasized that this strategy shows the governors realize that solving the security crisis requires collaborative action and creative solutions that bolster the work of federal security services.

Bashir M. Dalhatu, Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, released a statement in Kaduna noting that the North has suffered extensively from violence. He argued that returning to a state of peace is the necessary baseline for any future economic or social growth. The ACF hopes the fund will provide essential financing for surveillance, intelligence, logistics, and community security programs. Ultimately, the forum remains committed to supporting initiatives that help residents return to their farms and businesses without fear.
