The Federal High Court in Abuja has allowed the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, to post bail set at N2 billion. Bodejo faces accusations linked to money laundering totaling $2.63 million.
Justice Inyang Ekwo issued the ruling on Monday after reviewing the defense’s request. The judge determined that the charges against Bodejo were eligible for bail and utilized the court’s discretion to grant the motion.
Under the terms of the release, Bodejo must provide two sureties who each guarantee the N2 billion amount. One surety is required to live in Abuja and present tax records spanning three years. The second surety must hold real estate valued at N2 billion located within the Federal Capital Territory.
Additionally, the court instructed Bodejo to relinquish his passport to the registrar and prohibited him from leaving the country without judicial approval. Justice Ekwo stated that the court exercised its discretionary power because the alleged offenses are bailable. The trial is scheduled to begin on October 5, 6, and 7, 2026.
