A 10-year-old boy was taken from his residence in the Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State by suspected kidnappers who are now asking for money to set him free.
Authorities were alerted to the situation at 5:20 p.m. on July 25 by Bukar Umar, a resident of Andarashi Village near Babbangida. Witnesses reported that four armed individuals carrying bows, arrows, knives, and sticks broke into the home and forcibly took the boy, identified as Abdullahi Isa.
After fleeing to an undisclosed location, the attackers reached out to the boy’s family via phone to negotiate a ransom. In response, local law enforcement dispatched officers to the scene. The head of the State Investigation Department has been tasked with using technical surveillance to trace the phone number utilized by the kidnappers.
Police officials state that operations to locate the child and bring the perpetrators to justice are currently underway as the investigation proceeds.
