Hon. Dr. Salisu Isah, the Executive Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area in Kaduna State, has lauded the commencement of the 122-kilometre Mando-Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road reconstruction. He termed the N177 billion project a historic development that marks a turning point for the region.
Isah thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for their focus on infrastructure and security. He noted that the project fulfills a long-held dream for local farmers, traders, and students who rely on this vital transit route. According to the chairman, the completed road will boost commerce, create jobs, and improve regional security.
Recalling the President’s personal visit to assess the road’s poor state, Isah highlighted that this project proves the administration’s commitment to action-oriented leadership. Beyond this, he praised Governor Sani for other local improvements, including the Bagoma-Gagumi road project, the renovation of Jibril Mai Gwari Memorial Hospital I, and the building of a new abattoir and veterinary clinic.
While grateful, the Chairman urged the government to complete the stalled Gwargwaje-Zaria to Saulawa road project. He also emphasized the urgent need to restore national grid electricity to nine out of eleven local wards, as power outages continue to hinder education and healthcare. Additionally, Isah requested the establishment of tertiary institutions and vocational centers to provide more prospects for local youth.
Isah concluded by thanking Minister of Works Senator David Umahi and the Emir of Birnin Gwari, His Royal Highness Malam Zubair Jibril, for their roles in fostering peace and development. He encouraged residents to support the construction work and protect the infrastructure as a national asset.
