Mason Mount unavailable for Manchester United’s clash with Leeds in Dublin

Mason Mount is expected to sit out Manchester United’s upcoming pre-season game against Leeds after suffering a foot injury against Paris St-Germain.

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount will likely be sidelined for Wednesday’s pre-season match against Leeds at Croke Park. This follows an injury sustained during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Paris St-Germain in Gothenburg, where he took a knock to his foot early in the match.

Manager Michael Carrick substituted Mount as a precautionary measure during the first half. Despite appearing mobile after the game, the 27-year-old has not participated in training sessions since and remains a doubt for the upcoming fixture. His availability for the subsequent game against AC Milan in Wroclaw is also currently uncertain.

On a more positive note for the squad, Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez has resumed training after recovering from an injury sustained in the World Cup final. Additionally, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo have returned to training, though it remains unclear if Carrick will include them in the lineup for the match at Croke Park, which marks the first time two English football teams have competed at the venue.
