The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has formally refuted rumors claiming that the election for its Osun State chapter has been shifted to Abuja. In a statement issued on August 6, 2026, National Organising Secretary Chinyere Ogekalu labeled a circular purportedly signed by Action Alliance National Chairman Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as unauthorized and lacking constitutional validity.
Ogekalu emphasized that no official decision was ever reached to move the August 8, 2026, election from Osun State. She reminded stakeholders that her office holds the sole mandate for coordinating state elections. Consequently, she advised party leaders and election participants to ignore the deceptive circular, noting that future updates will be provided through official channels.
Amidst the controversy, IPAC has established a caretaker committee for the state under the leadership of Odesola Oluseye Titus, who represents the Action Peoples Party. The regional political landscape remains tense as a rival faction, headed by Tosin Odeyemi of the Democratic Leadership Alliance, has also emerged ahead of the state’s upcoming August 15 governorship race.
