The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate claims that public money is being used for vote buying before the 2026 governorship race.
Remi Omowaye, who leads the party’s media committee, issued a statement on Wednesday. The APC claims that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s government is utilizing state coffers to sway voters. Specifically, the party alleges that officials are collecting bank details from residents, promising a payment of N20,000 to each recipient. According to the opposition, these funds are being deposited directly into the accounts of local workers and citizens to secure an electoral edge.
The APC characterized the initiative as a formal and systematic effort to manipulate the electorate through financial inducements.
