Islamic and Christian leaders have praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for his dedication to fulfilling the pledges he made upon taking office. Both Most Rev(Dr) Timothy Yahaya, the Archbishop of Kaduna Province, and Sheikh Haliru Maraya, the Northern Coordinator of the Global Peace Foundation, highlighted the Governor’s integrity during a recent ceremony at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
The commendation stems from the Governor’s support for the families of the late Ven Edwin Achi and the late Islamic teacher, Malama Ummulkhairi Aliyu. Both individuals passed away under tragic circumstances, leaving their families in need. In response, Governor Sani visited these families and promised to provide housing and long-term educational and financial support for the affected children.
During the event held last Monday, the Governor officially handed over title documents for new homes to Mrs. Sarah Achi and Malam Usman Aliyu. Rev Yahaya expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s character, noting that while many leaders make promises, Governor Sani distinguishes himself by consistently matching his words with action. He added prayers for the Governor’s success and for lasting peace across Kaduna State.
Sheikh Maraya also lauded the Governor’s compassion, specifically mentioning the fulfillment of a N10 million donation to the family of the late Ummulkhairi. Furthermore, he noted that the government is actively arranging for the education of the deceased’s children in high-quality local schools. The Sheikh described the Governor as a source of mercy for the residents of Kaduna.
Governor Sani reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to supporting victims of banditry and insecurity. He noted that this effort follows a previous initiative where 50 homes were provided to other affected families last year. The Governor emphasized that the government would continue to stand by those who suffer due to security challenges in the region.
