Esther Umoh, who works as a campaign photographer for Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential hopeful Peter Obi, has formally requested that party leadership address ambiguity regarding the official party logo. In a Wednesday statement directed at the NDC’s Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Theo Abu Agada, Umoh emphasized the need for immediate clarification.
Umoh noted that the ongoing dispute regarding the correct emblem is causing widespread hesitation among supporters and candidates. With the 2027 general elections approaching, she warned that members remain uncertain about which symbol to use on campaign assets. This lack of direction could hinder the party’s cohesion, public visibility, and overall electoral preparation.
To mitigate these risks, Umoh called on party officials to release a formal notice to all stakeholders and state chapters. This communication should explicitly confirm the logo registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and establish standardized usage protocols. She stressed that the party must avoid self-inflicted confusion to remain competitive, urging leadership to take swift, decisive action to ensure their campaign efforts are unified and effective.
