Ikenga Ugochinyere, the federal legislator for the Ideato North/South constituency, asserts that the Action Peoples Party (APP) intends to capture elective offices through voter support rather than judicial intervention during the 2027 general elections. Speaking to supporters in Umukegwu Akokwa, Ugochinyere stated that the party is ready to overcome any attempts by the ruling party to undermine the electoral process, particularly in Imo State.
Ugochinyere characterized the APP as an emerging force poised to reshape the state’s political environment. He accused the ruling party of plotting to manipulate the results, but warned that such efforts would fail because voters will proactively secure their polling stations. The lawmaker emphasized that casting ballots is an essential right and urged citizens to protect their chosen mandates.
Reflecting on his previous electoral success, Ugochinyere reminded his constituents that they elected him even while he was absent. He vowed to defend the community’s heritage against outside influence. Dismissing his opponents as lacking genuine public support, he claimed they have turned to vandalism of campaign materials, and he promised to outmaneuver them in the upcoming contest.
