The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has requested assistance from former Deputy Governor Otunba Omolade Oluwateru to help manage friction caused by the party’s recent primary election results.
State APC Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, visited Oluwateru at his Akure residence on Tuesday with the State Working Committee. Kolawole highlighted the former official’s political expertise and requested his help in unifying the party. He noted that the APC has already formed a reconciliation committee to address internal disputes, emphasizing that Oluwateru’s influence is essential to soothing members dissatisfied with the primary process.
Kolawole also called on the former deputy governor to continue backing the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. In his response, Oluwateru praised the decision to form a reconciliation panel.
Having served under the late Governor Olusegun Agagu, Oluwateru reaffirmed his dedication to the party, stating that his primary goal is to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election efforts. He recognized Governor Aiyedatiwa as the head of the party in the state and expressed his willingness to unite all factions. He concluded by pledging his full cooperation to help the party move forward as a cohesive unit.
